Halloween Festivities Begin

I have always loved going for a fall drive out to the pumpkin patch despite Chris' annual reminder that it is just as easy to get a pumpkin at the grocery store.  Of course Grady needed to look appropriately dressed for the country for his first visit to the pumpkin patch.

We went the morning after he got his shots.  Little did we know the little guy would sleep through the entire visit.  We probably should have gotten a clue when he slept 13 hours the night before. Here he is looking wide eyed and ready for the fun.

I'd never been to this pumpkin patch (Linder Farms), but it gave some of the California ones a run for their money with a huge corn maze, hay ride, petting zoo, zipline, rides, and pretty much everything else you could think of.  It was a gorgeous day and we took full advantage of it.  Maybe next year we will return and Grady can actually enjoy the experience.

Sneak peak to prove that he was there.

My dad and Robin joined us, which was awesome. Aside from having good company, I think having another man around kept Chris from going totally crazy as Robin and I meticulously picked out our favorite gourds and the perfect little pumpkins from the field.

When it was all over and time to load up our sleepy baby into the car, we plopped him on top of our pumpkin wheelbarrow for the photo op.  He even slept through that!  On a sidenote, day two after the shots was not exactly as pleasant as the first sleepy day.  Lets just say I prefer the sleepy post-vaccine version of Grady verses the screaming version.

The next day my dad and Robin had already carved up their pumpkin for the second annual Halloween dinner.  I really like this new little tradition and was especially impressed with this year's new addition of brains.

Grady was given the most adorable new hat.  Perfect for cheering on BSU.

When you cannot trick or treat, you dress up for dinner, right?  Our little tiger with Shada the ladybug.  Shada is as much my dad and Robin's baby as Grady is ours.

Love this little tiger.
