Happy birthday Huz!

This Saturday the Huz joined me at milepost 29 and ended my 6 months of being a cougar.  We tend to do birthday weeks around here rather than birthday days, but this birthday week was pretty low key.  We enjoyed some good meals out, some drinks and best of all the traditional Johnson morning birthday festivities which include streamers, signs, and a delicious breakfast complete with lots of bacon and the red "You are Special Today" plate.  Every year on his birthday I get to reflect about what a great Huz I have.  He picked up the nickname Huz when we honeymooned in Fiji amongst torrential rains.  The rain didn't bother me much because we got to sit inside and I got to do what I do best, talk and talk some more.  In one of my jabbering sessions I came to the conclusion that hubby is not a good husband nickname because "hub" appears nowhere in the word husband.  Therefore, the nickname "Huz" was born in the first few days of a marriage.  My Huz is simply the best a girl could have.  He is funny, tolerant, sweet, loyal and just my best friend.  I love travelling to new places with him just as much as I love sitting on the couch watching Deadliest Catch with him.  He makes every day better and for that I am eternally grateful.  Happy birthday Huz, I love you so much!

Spoiled for a Month

I miss my sister.  I wish that she lived here.  Life is just better when she is around.  This made her time in Boise this month extra wonderful for me.  She is quick to laugh, a wonderful mother, a great listener, and just such a strong woman that I have always looked up to.  Plus, she and Andy gave me these adorable little naked nephews.  I don't like the fact that the Erickson clan is moving across the country, but I am excited for them and the new life they will have in North Carolina.  Cheers to your new adventure. . . cannot wait to visit you!

Squirrels Beware

You may remember when I posted about our squirrel problem. Well, I think that our little Bella girl might just be the solution.   Today when I was getting ready, I looked out the window to see this:

A poor little squirrel (well, not so poor) was dangling from the top of one of these skinny trees and Bella was after it.  Go Bella!

Dad's Birthday

We surprised my dad with a birthday dinner for his 59th birthday.  I realized this year that we will both hit our milestones during the same year.  This year I will hit 30 and he will hit 60.  Well dad, lets enjoy our last year in our relevant decades together.  I love you and loved spending an glutonous birthday dinner with you and the rest of the family!

Tyler is Four

My favorite little Tyler turned 4 this past Sunday.  I cannot believe that this little adorable, fun loving, red-headed, freckle faced kid is four.  Time really does fly.  He had been asking for a four wheeler for his birthday, but seemed pleased with the other smattering of gifts that he received.  Then, when he was not looking, his parents wheeled out his four wheeler.  It took him about a minute to notice, and then he pointed and his jaw literally dropped.  He was the cutest.  Happy birthday little T-man.  We love you!

Do you think he likes it?!

Cutest cousins ever!

I hear that the day after his birthday Tyler's first question was when he would be four-and-a-half?  Oh how I long for the days when a half year birthday counted for something.

The Boys

We were lucky enough to get the boys for a couple of hours this weekend.  They did a little jumping on the trampoline and a little fishing, although with only a little luck.  In big news, I am happy to announce that I am official in Owen's life as he now knows my name.  I think that I got off easy as an Auntie because you can't get much easier than "Ali." I am admittedly completey partial, but I adore these little boys and I cannot wait to visit them in their new house in North Carolina in less than a month.

Puppy Love

You may remember meeting Nesta when he was showing off his skills at the pool last summer. Well, we are pupppysitting for a few days and Bella and Nesta have taken their relationship to the next level.

It is endless entertainment to watch these two little love birds wrestle in the grass, follow each other around the house, and play tug o' war with various toys.  I always thought that I was Bella's favorite, although Chris might have something to say about that. I have been proven wrong and now realize that Nesta is Bella's true love.
