With June comes celebrating father's day and Chris's birthday. Although we tried to make the days special, I know that I don't do enough to let this man know how much I love and appreciate him. I truly feel like God is giving us two boys because Chris is such a wonderful example of a husband, father, and a man. He has the strongest work ethic out of anyone that I know. It is a rare occasion that he just sits. He is always fixing something around the house, taking care of the yard, paying our bills, playing with Grady, or just doing whatever needs to be done. He accomplishes more before he leaves the house in the morning than I am able to accomplish in the whole day. I am not kidding. It makes me feel inadequate in many ways, but more than anything it makes me feel grateful for the wonderful partner that I have. He is the best daddy to Grady. They are so sweet when they play together and Grady no doubt loves every minute of fishing, swimming, shoulder rides, and reading tractor books with daddy that he can get. As for me, I couldn't have a better husband, in addition to being a superhuman daddy and head of household, Chris is supportive, funny, remarkably patient, and selfless. Grady and I are lucky, that is all there is to it. If our boys grow up to be half the man their father is, I will be so proud and honored. We love you Chris. Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father.

Oh Boy!
When we went in for our 20 week ultrasound, I don't think either of us had any real expectation about whether we were having a boy or a girl. As the tech did all the health checkups she kept going down to the baby's private areas to see what she could see and each time the baby had its legs crossed and was completely uncooperative. She promised that she wouldn't let us leave without finding out what we were having, the woman was determined. I think Chris and I both started thinking it was a girl with the rational that if there was nothing to see, maybe there was nothing obvious to see. Then, she went down for one more look and the baby did a spread eagle and showed us his parts. It was clear that it was definitely not a girl. Grady is getting a little brother and we are getting a second son! I was excited when we first found out because I'd always envisioned our family with two boys and had had referred to our future children in my head as "the boys" on numerous occasions, and since then my excitement has grown exponentially. I see lots of brotherly golf games, fishing, ski trips, wrestling, silly games, dirty little boys, nighttime chats in bunkbeds, and all sorts of crazy boy antics in our future. I would have of course wanted our little girl to fish, golf, and play hard too like her mama, but the world just seems right having two boys in our family. We cannot wait!
Here he is.

Soccer Grady
Little Grady man has been trying out his first official sport, but let's be honest, it is more like me running around a field trying to corral Grady into the general direction of whatever activity the coach is directing with varying degrees of success. But let's also be honest, these pictures and memories are pretty darn cute. Although he can be easily distracted by the slide or the "huge diggers" which are close to the field and a little too enticing at times, he also seems to really enjoy it and occasionally follows directions. Maybe he'll play soccer like his mom and dad when he is a big kid. Only time will tell, but for now I am soaking in this cuteness.
