Chris and I both had a busy Saturday, which made our lazy spend half the day in your pajamas Sunday that much better! I was able to help shower my friend Artesia with a little baby boy love (after three girls) and Chris had the not so fun task of raking leaves in our yard and then he was a good son in law and did my mom's yard too. It was a busy day for us both, but I guarantee I had more fun.
Artesia and I go back to the 6th grade when we used to play chess at recess and beg our teacher to let us help her organize her classroom during the summer. We were dorks, but we were good dorks together. Artesia has always had the best sense of humor and always been able to get a laugh from people. She is so much fun to be around as are her darling (and super well behaved) girls. Those girls are moving over to make room for their baby brother. I cannot wait for Grady to have another little buddy this December.
I had no hope of capturing everyone at the shower in a photo even after wedging myself into the corner of our house. It is a good thing when you have so many wonderful women in your life that they don't all fit in a picture, especially when they are all as nice as these ladies.
Grady looks huge when he is held by another kid (Maddy, Artesia's first born). He is growing up so fast, but I promise he is still little and not exactly the lug he looks to be here.
After our busy Saturday, we spent our Sunday slowing sipping on our coffee, crafting (me), watching a tutorial on some computer code thing (Chris) and flying around the kitchen (Grady). Sometimes guilt can creep in when it is noon and we are still in our pajamas, but not this weekend. It was cold outside and cozy inside and we were meant to be in pajamas for the better part of the day. After we finally got ready for the day, Sunday was topped off with a low key dinner with my Dad and Robin. Grady slept through most of dinner but got some good grandparent loving at the end. It was the perfect Sunday.
Grady had not one, but two play dates sit or lie next to your friend dates this week. I love having other mama friends on maternity leave the same time that I have been on leave. These little gatherings are much more for my benefit than Grady's since he still pretty much just lies there, but I like to pretend that some day he will look back at these pictures and say that he has been friends with his little buds his whole life.
Wyatt smiles at the drop of a hat. Grady not so much, he made us work to get a picture with two happy boys.
Love when they mirror image each other.
Grady is not doing much to impress sweet Kennedy. We are OK if he does not learn that skill for another 30 years.
