For me a perfect summer day is defined by enjoying a book, a beer and maybe a nap or two on the dock at Priest Lake. Lucky for me that is just what we got to do Labor Day weekend. We've been traveling around quite a bit, and although we traveled to Priest as well, the weekend was more of a refresh and revive kind of weekend than anything else. Over the past nine years as I have come to know Priest Lake, I think that it has moved to the top of the list of my favorite places. Time just slows down at Priest. Nobody wears a watch, nobody cares if you have oatmeal cookies with breakfast, and you are lucky if you stay awake past 9:30. It is a time to catch up on sleep and good conversations and I don't think that I love any place more.
Chris amazed me once again with his skiing. He is just so fun to watch and made me think that this was year that I should try to get up on one ski. "Try" is the right word because it did not result in success much to my dismay. Oh well, there is always next year. The pictures of me in the lake attempting to ski are not quite as cool as Chris showing off his skills.
And we also had an awesome time with Chris' parents who are always so gracious when we are up there. Kim never lets a day at Priest go without snacks that could feed a small village. Thanks so much for having us up. It was wonderful, as always!
Until next year Priest...
Love this post! So glad you guys had a nice relaxing weekend. I know how you feel about Priest Lake - I feel the same way about Apple Valley in Ohio (who knew?)
