If you know me well, you probably know that I like to fish. If you know Chris well, you probably know that he loves to fish. Because I know it makes him really happy and it makes me pretty happy, we spent our first weekend home in what has felt like months by driving to the South Fork of the Boise River for a day of fishing. Chris landed a little dude and I hooked a huge fish. I get so excited whenever I hook a fish flyfishing. I usually shout for Chris and ask him what to do and he tries to get upstream to me as fast as he can. I know what to do when there is no fish on my line, but whenever I get one, excitement takes over and I just shout "what do I do now?!?!" Well, I reeled and reeled the fish being careful to keep my line tight, but not too tight as advised by Chris... and then it happened, he jumped out in the air (and showed me he was huge) and got enough slack to get off my hook and swim happily away. I was left on the shore not feeling so happy. One day I will become a sophisticated fisherwoman who doesn't have to yell for Chris every time I catch something, but for now I will take pleasure in a day out on the river with my man. Sure, a fish would have made it a little better, but it was still a pretty darn good day.
