We made a trip up to Spokane a couple of weeks ago to get some grandparent time in and to run Bloomsday (or more accurately, to cheer on Chris who was the only one who ran Bloomsday). We got Grandma all to ourselves while Eric tended to some business in Portland. Despite one spirited two year old, we had a great weekend enjoying the gorgeous spring weather and all the fun that Grandma and Papa's house has to offer.
The weather could not have been more amazing. Look at these two adorable folks. Graham loves his grandma.
First summer Popsicle.
Sleepover with Grandma.
Exploring the third floor and Papa's train set, best bribery ever.
Grady's next favorite third floor treasure was this awesome firetruck.
Graham's first favorite third floor treasure ever was this random horse. We brought it home with us because he loved it so much.
Graham's first ride on Chicago.
A trip down to Riverfront Park to pick up Chris's race packet.
Making cookies while trying on every pair of shoes in the house and examining Grandma's cool cheese knife collection.
Grandma's first sou-chef.
Grady will take care of the taste testing anytime his services are needed.
Grandma;s second sou-chef with the handy measuring cups.
Beautiful weather for a walk around one of my most favorite neighborhoods ever.
Grady was a pro at spotting fire hydrants.
Look at these cheeks!
After weeks of training, the family all came down with a bug, which seems to be the story of our life this year. Despite feeling crappy, Chris ran and ran really well. He is impressive (and hot!). So proud of him!

On the trip home Grady had the sweetest interaction with the pilots on our plane. He was allowed to peak in and to say hello. He asked the very nice gentlemen if he was the pilot, the man said yes and Grady proceeded to tell him that he had Spiderman on his shirt and that Spiderman knows how to fly too. He then thanked the pilot for flying us home and said goodbye. It was just the sweetest little interaction and made me smile so much. It also made me want to be a nice person just like this nice pilot was to our sweet boy. Grady tells us the story of the pilot at least three times a week now.
Thanks for the great weekend Grandma!
