We made our third annual trip (see 2012 and 2013 here) out to Linder Farms to pick some pumpkins and enjoy some of the fall harvest festivities this weekend. I LOVE this tradition and this farm. This year it was especially fun to watch the kids enjoy the farm. They loved the tractor, loved picking out pumpkins, loved eating fresh hot mini donuts, and probably mostly loved swimming in a pool of corn. The day was gorgeous and we were way overdressed for the weather, but we sweat it out and got some great pumpkins for the porch.
I am not sure that all the adults appreciated my suggestion that the kids "swim" in the corn, but they sure were cute. We were picking corn out of diapers, shoes and pockets hours later.
These two. . . They are just adorable.
They worked up an appetite with all that playing in the corn. Or maybe their parents really wanted those bags of hot mini donuts.
Time to go on the tractor ride to the patch. Grady is tractor obsessed and actually sat like a good boy for almost the whole ride - success!
I told Doug this may be the one and only picture of the three of us where we are all smiling EVER. I love it.
And just because I feel the need to acknowledge that baby brother was with us too, whoa - scary big!
I don't have the skills like Doug to get smiles from all. Elizabeth is such a trooper with her broken elbow :( Nothing slows this woman down.
We made it to the patch and someone was excited, "look at all these pumpkins!"
"Look mommy this one is like a watermelon, yeah."
I guess the watermelon pumpkin lost its luster.
It is rare, but Grady will occasionally and randomly actually look up and say "cheese" while taking a picture, if only it would look like a real smile :)
These sweet kids are so fun to watch. I love that Grady is growing up before our eyes alongside his sweet cousins.
What the kids were running towards, a sweet little pup named Copper
Cameron may prefer a rock patch over the pumpkin patch, he found some good ones.
A sweet sweet, gorgeous girl and a hot Grady.
Climbing on our loot (with blue popsicle lips). I told Chris I wanted one really big pumpkin. I was serious and after we passed the area on the farm with the biggest pumpkins I asked him to walk back to get one. This pumpkin was earned. I am pretty sure it was about as big as he could carry. Thanks huz!
Happy fall, happy harvest, happy best time of the year!!!
And Go Giants!!!!
