First Days as a Family of Four

We had a wonderful first week of a family of four.  Grandma was here from Spokane to help make the transition and spoil Grady with love and cuddle on Graham for our first few days home.  Thank you so much Kim! Then we had several days as just a family of four. Anyone who knows Grady was probably concerned about his transition to big brotherhood.  We certainly were.  I am thrilled to report that Grady has risen to the occasion in a phenomenal way.  He is helpful, eager, protective, sweet, and such a good big brother already.   He certainly still has his fireball moments, but overall I couldn't be more pleased with how awesome he has been.  I love having two boys and I love having these two boys!

Chris going back to work was my real test, but so far things have gone well.  We've enjoyed both cozy days inside and some beautiful afternoons outside.  I don't really know where my days go, but they have been good days.

Graham is a good little baby.  He sleeps through his puppy sister's antics as well as Grady's shrieks of excitement and shaking of his crib.  We hadn't really heard him cry much until he got his manhood fixed, but we cannot really blame him for that.   Graham is generally referred to as "baby Graham" in our house and Grady asks to see "baby Graham" almost immediately upon his waking up each morning and from each afternoon nap.  It is really sweet. I just love seeing these brothers together. What a special gift to be given a brother.

As far as looks go, we hear a lot of both sides "I see a lot of Grady in him" and "your boys look nothing alike,"  which I guess means we'll take the wait and see approach before declaring either side of the spectrum.  His hair is light brown, but looks like it may be blond beneath.  His eyes are still to be determined. Chris thinks they'll be green or hazel and my vote is on blue.  I'd love to have a green eyed boy like his daddy though.  His complexion does look darker than Grady for sure and I think he has Grady beat in the hand and foot size category. We've already gone through multiple sets of jammies because I cannot shove Graham's feet into the little footies.

"I love baby Graham thiiiiiiiiiis much!"

"Here Graham let me show you this balloon and this little itty bitty Teddy bear"

We took Grady out for ice cream in celebration of being a big brother.  The kid who struggles with a spoon at home and begs for help had no problems with these spoons, funny how that seems to happen.

These two are so sweet together.  Grady was beside himself when Grandma left during his nap.

The cousins got to come over and meet Graham.  Sophie held him the whole time and was absolutely adorable.  Cam was scared to death.  You can tell he was warned in advance to be very careful around Graham because he was totally silent and stone-faced.  Grady was crazy.  I guess we have a lifetime to try to get a picture of all of them together.  Better luck next time.

We spent a lot of time watching baseball.  What a perfect time to be home and off work. What a thrilling World Series.  I cannot believe that they did it again!

"Go Giants!"

Graham loves the bath.

I don't always think the boys look alike, but when I snapped this picture I immediately thought of the one of Grady below at one month.  They may not be replicas or even close, but they are certainly brothers.

Grady (one month)

And yes, our first more furry child is adjusting well too.   I guess it was actually our first week as a family of five!

Comfy cozy for sure

This one seems to like to cuddle more than Mr. Grady.  I couldn't get over how he fell asleep on me and I still cannot get over those cheeks!

We've  been enjoying the fall weather.  Grady is obsessed with raking leaves with daddy and finding the biggest leaf on our walks.  He also often carries his rake with us on walks around the neighborhood and explains to me that "maybe daddy will rake up all the leaves" that have fallen in downtown Eagle.  I am sure daddy would love to do that Grady.

I love the new view of my family.  Couldn't ask for more.

I am loving my time at home with Grady almost as much as my newborn cuddle time with Graham.  I love being able to do things like take him to the park and meet unexpected friends like the daughter of one of my longest friendships who we just happened upon this week.

And just a few more of the freshest face in the fam.  We love you little Graham!
