Fallin'

The leaves are falling and so are the apples!  This weekend we went to a "you pick" apple farm with our friends Artesia and Matt and their three darling girls.  Having never gone apple picking before, I really thought it was fun. Fifty cents a pound for as many apples as you want.

This is called pregnancy payback. You better believe that we filled those apple barrels (after 4 pregnancies, Matt's may have been a little fuller than Chris').

Grady is excited to have another new buddy this December!

What does one do with all those apples?  To tell you the truth, as we picked them I really didn't know. I just thought it was fun to pick them.  But I looked up a recipe for crock pot chunky applesauce and it was the EASIEST thing ever, seriously.  It was so easy and so good that I thought I would share.  This is how easy it is, peel and cut up 8-10 large cooking apples (golden delicious are the Johnson faves), add apples, 1/2 cup water, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/2 to 1 cup sugar to crock pot.  Cook on low for 6-8 hours. So easy that even I could not mess it up and even picky Chris approved!

Next fall these gummy smiles will be gone and Grady will be able to enjoy the applesauce too!  We'll take the smiles for now!

We are in the season where we cannot go on a drive or for a walk without pointing out at least 15 trees whose leaves are showing off for us.  Fall is a great time of year around here and we are enjoying every minute of it.

Chris of course had to get one last warm weeknight of fishing in.  I love that we live in a city where that can actually happen!

We have been waking up to frost on the yard this week, but warm afternoon sunshine, which we've been savoring as we know it will soon be gone. This awesome tent is just as good at keeping Grady shaded as it is as keeping Bella from bugging him, although she likes to be as close to the tent as possible.
