We were supposed to spend Easter in Walla Walla, but things came up and we didn't make it. So last weekend we took a 24 hour jaunt to meet up with Chris's grandma and parents. It was an absolute splendid 24 hours. Grady was 100% the center of attention and let me tell you, the kid knew it and soaked every minute of it up. Grandma fixed these wonderful meals and Grady showed his appreciation by putting on a show for everyone filled with all sorts of snorts and giggles. The response of the 5 adults around him was snorts and giggles of their own. We've never seen him soak up attention quite like he did that weekend.
The dreaded car trip was actually pretty remarkable. To our utter shock, we made the 4 hour drive both ways without having to stop once for Grady. The worst part was when an hour out of Boise I realized that I'd forgotten my camera. I was SO sad, but thank goodness for camera phones.
There is nothing quite like a grandma's love. These two were adorable together. Grady was obsessed with his Grandma and I might say the feeling appeared to be mutual.
And this just makes my heart melt. When these two get together they spend hours chatting away. They have a magnetic father son attraction and you can tell that they so enjoy their time just being together. This is the patio of the house that Eric grew up in. Seeing this makes me want to keep our house forever so that Grady and Chris can sit on the porch and catch up in 30 years.
They call this one great for a reason. Grady's great grandma is simply the salt of the earth. She is the sweetest, most wonderful great grandma/grandma/substitute grandma that Grady, Chris or I could ask for. She epitomizes all that you'd think a grandma is supposed to be. We love her so much and were so happy to get to spend the day with her.
A kid can only handle so much love before he needs a nap, but the grandparents don't let that stop them . . . they soak him up even when he is sleeping.
I am so lucky that Chris chose me to be a part of this family.
Look at the matching faces. I couldn't' resist.
No words for this one.
Thanks Great Grandma, Grandma, and Papa. What a wonderful 24 hours!
To have this much love and attention surrounding him means only one thing, Grady is a darn lucky boy!
Beautiful family. Beautiful life! Where are the pictures of you Ali?!?
