For weeks before my sister arrives to town I am busy telling people my SISTER is coming! Because we see so little of each other, I really really look forward to her visits. As a bonus Andy returned home from Afghanistan just a week or so prior to them coming home so we all had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The highlight of the visit for me was seeing Grady play with his cousins, see them crack each other up, see them run around like crazy little boys, see the way that Grady idolizes his older cousins. I am so glad that these boys have that special cousin bond even without frequent visits. So so much fun to have them here.
Nothing better than eating ice cream with sprinkles with cousins.
The boys are adorable with baby Graham and love holding him. It was so sweet.
Grady has some pretty cool uncles and an uncle-in-law - Andy's sister's husband :). During the week he got to talk with them about being a helicopter pilot, fireman and farmer. It is like a made up dream boy world.
Paul took the boys on a very cool fire station tour. Complete with putting on the gear and holding the fire hose. The boys LOVED it. It was very cool to see the ins and outs of the station and exactly what my step brother does. Thank you Paul for the impressive hands on tour!
We made a special trip out to the farm to see "Farmer Reuben's" tractors. Grady LOVED sitting in the huge tractors. Bless Reuben's heart he even took the kids on tractor rides around the house. Too bad Grady just likes the stationary tractors because the other ones "are just a little bit too loud and scary" in his words. Despite not wanting to sit on a running tractor, Grady still says he wants to be a farmer when he grows up. And when asked what kind of farmer he responds "ahhhhh just a tractor farmer." Thanks Assumendis for letting us invade the farm.
I got in the picture to show exactly how big this tractor really is!
Come home again soon Ericksons. We love you!
Nice post Ali. Priceless family times, the love shines through your words.
ReplyDeleteOwen and Tyler still crack up over Grady's comment…"Not if there's any meatballs!" Every now and then Owen just throws out that comment. It makes me smile every time!
