For this reason, we braved the 100 degree heat (and the strange crowds) at the fair with our red-faced little man for one purpose, the petting zoo! When we released Grady from his stroller he ran up to the animals like it was his job. He knew exactly what to do and needed no prompting at all. He was brave, maybe a little too brave, with reaching out to animals. I think there were just as many people watching him as he squealed with delight moving from animal to animal as there were watching the animals. From pigs, to goats, to bulls, he was in heaven.
The next weekend we revisited the zoo so that Grady could see some more animals. It is crazy how much he has changed since our last pre-walking visit. While I don't think he really sees the animals in the enclosures yet, his obsession with the petting goats continued and he loved being able to explore some of the zoo grounds on his own two feet. Cannot wait for Boo at the Zoo in October.
Loved seeing the giraffes with Grandma. This is the one animal in the enclosures that I know he sees and my favorite at the zoo.
He loved this elephant that spays water.
No better way to cool off than with ice cream. He sat just long enough to get a couple bites and was then on the move again. This boy is always on the move!
Grady was so proud to be able to sit on the tiger! Love it when he looks at me like this wanting me to acknowledge his accomplishment.
I loved animals when I was little too. From as early as I could remember I wanted to be either a veterinarian or a trainer at Sea World. . . maybe I need to rethink my career path. I am so glad to see that our little guy has the same love for animals. I see many visits to zoos and animal theme parks in our future.
